SUMO ER316Lsi stainless steel welding rod is an austenitic filler rod for TIG (Argon) welding, containing molybdenum with extra-low carbon control. The 3.2 mm size is ideal for welding jobs requiring fast, heavy metal deposition, producing weld seams with high corrosion resistance, especially in acidic or chloride environments.
Feature
Enhanced Fluidity: Contains a high amount of silicon (Silicon), ensuring superior wetting, resulting in smooth weld beads and easy fusion with workpiece edges.
Superior Corrosion Resistance: With the addition of Mo (Molybdenum), it provides better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion than grade 308L.
Intergranular Corrosion Protection: Extra-low carbon (L) content minimizes the risk of chromium carbide precipitation, maintaining long-lasting rust-resistant properties after welding.
High Mechanical Strength: The 3.2 mm wire size provides dense weld metal deposition, suitable for structural welding requiring high tensile strength.
Clean & Bright Finish: The wire surface undergoes high-standard cleaning processes, delivering a stable arc, smooth feeding, and visually appealing bright welds.
Application
Used for welding grade 316 and 316L stainless steels, as well as dissimilar stainless steel welding in certain applications
Particularly suitable for the shipbuilding industry and coastal stainless steel structural applications
Used in chemical, petrochemical, power plant, and wastewater treatment systems
Used in food, pharmaceutical, and beverage industries exposed to corrosive solutions
Recommendation: Use with a TIG welding machine (DC-) and 100% pure argon shielding gas to protect the weld seam.
