Constant pressure automatic water pump or square tank water pump
Operating with a nitrogen pressure tank, it generates immediate pressure every time water is used without having to wait for the water pressure in the pipe to drop to a certain level. This provides consistent water pressure during use and delivers equal water pressure to every tap. Mitsubishi constant pressure automatic water pumps have been extremely popular for many years, especially in Thailand. Featuring a compact, square, yellow-and-black design, it incorporates continuous developments such as a newly designed U-shaped impeller—an exclusive Mitsubishi Electric patent—which increases the water delivery area and reduces resistance, thereby delivering a higher volume of water for a continuous, strong water flow. The aluminum frame motor comes with a 5-year warranty and a thermal protector to prevent motor burnout, ensuring a long service life. Made of flame-retardant materials for superior safety and environmentally friendly under RoHS standards.
- Double Safety protects the wiring harness and capacitor from water, insects, and the wiring box, covered with an additional steel box layer using flame-retardant materials
- Thermo protector shuts down operation when the temperature is too high
- Sus-joint and Housing adds a locking system connecting the suction pipe to the housing to prevent movement, boosting confidence in quality and preventing leakage issues
- Electronic Flow Switch circuit board accurately monitors water usage, coated with waterproof resin, covered with a plastic box made of flame-retardant material, along with an additional steel box for enhanced safety; Nitrogen tank provides strong, steady pressure with confidence from Energy Efficiency Label No. 5 up to 3 stars

What type of house is the Mitsubishi square tank water pump suitable for?
Suitable for general homes and commercial buildings with water fixtures requiring constant pressure, such as water heaters and rain showers. Compact size saves space. How many watts should the water pump be? First, you should know the water usage points and the number of residents in the house—how many points of water are needed or how many people will use water. If multiple points are opened at the same time, the pressure might be insufficient. Typically, water pump selection is as follows:
- 1 - 2 story house, 2-3 residents: use a 100-150 watt water pump
- 2-story house, 4-5 residents: should use a water pump of 200 watts or more
- 3-4 story house or commercial building, more than 6 residents: should use a pump of 300 watts or more. However, do not forget that higher wattage means higher power consumption, so choose appropriately. Alternatively, you may choose a water pump with a special automatic system that controls water delivery electronically; this saves electricity even at very high usage, though the water pump price is relatively high as well.

Basic troubleshooting for abnormal issues in square-tank water pumps

1. Mitsubishi square-tank water pump makes abnormal noise: Noise can stem from various causes, but most commonly includes:

- The cooling fan is deteriorated, cracked, or broken, or insects got inside causing unusual noises. Solution: Use a Phillips screwdriver and snap ring pliers. Unscrew the fan cover using the Phillips screwdriver, use the snap ring pliers to remove the retaining ring on the fan, pull the old fan out, insert the new fan, and reassemble as before.
- Stones, sediment, or gravel slipped inside the water impeller. Solution: Use an 8 mm socket wrench or T-handle socket wrench to unscrew and open the impeller cover, taking care not to tear or damage the front pump gasket, then thoroughly clean and remove all foreign objects and reassemble as before.
- Bearings are damaged or deteriorated. Symptoms include continuous loud noise during operation. This could be caused by rust from a deteriorated shaft seal allowing water into the bearing, or bearing failure due to wear and tear. Solution: Must be performed by a professional technician; it is recommended to contact a nearby technician for an inspection.

2. Mitsubishi constant-pressure square-tank water pump does not run

A water pump not operating can also stem from several causes, but the most common ones encountered are as follows:
- The Mitsubishi water pump does not run due to excessive temperature: current pump models feature a thermal cut-off system to prevent the motor from burning out. Solution: Stop operating the water pump, switch off the circuit breaker, wait for the motor to cool down, and then turn it back on.
- The Mitsubishi water pump does not run due to a stuck or deteriorated pressure switch. Solution: Switch off the circuit breaker, use a Phillips screwdriver to open the cover and remove the pressure switch, then press it to check if it functions normally, or it may need to be replaced with a new pressure switch.
- The Mitsubishi water pump does not run due to a lack of power supply, which may be caused by a broken power cord or no power from the source at all. How to check: Use a test pen to check at the circuit breaker, or remove the machine cover and the condenser cover using a Phillips screwdriver, then use a test pen to check for electric current.
- The Mitsubishi water pump does not run due to a damaged or degraded condenser/capacitor. Solution: Turn off the circuit breaker, remove the machine cover and capacitor cover, and inspect the capacitor for swelling or short-circuiting; resolve the issue by replacing it with a new capacitor.
- The Mitsubishi water pump does not run due to motor damage or short-circuiting, which is quite rare but can happen if the water pump is overloaded or worn out over a long service life. How to check or fix: This may require technical expertise; it is recommended to call a technician for inspection.

3. Mitsubishi water pump surges/cycles intermittently

If the water pump stutters or cycles frequently, this may be caused by a water leak in the pump or the household water system. To check, close the water outlet valve and observe whether the stuttering stops. If it stops, it indicates a leak in the household system, such as a tap not completely closed or dripping. If the stuttering does not stop after closing the outlet valve, it may be caused by a leak at the pump, such as a cracked body, cracked casing, worn shaft seal, or worn front pump seal, and repair should be performed according to the defect by replacing the parts.

Water Pump Maintenance Guide
1. Observe pump operation, such as whether water pressure flows strong and normally, whether the sound is normal, and whether the pump cuts in and out properly.
2. You should open the cover to check the interior for any leaks.
3. Prevent any leaks inside the house. If leaks are left unattended for a long time, the water pump will work harder and more frequently, overloading the motor unnecessarily and increasing electricity costs.
4. Always close the faucet completely right after use.
5. Check the cleanliness of the water in the water tank to prevent debris, dirt, and sand from entering the pump.
6. Build a sun and rain shelter to extend its service life.

Water pump installation equipment
- PVC pipe cutter scissors, saw
- No. 13 wrench
- Pipe wrench
- PVC pipe glue or solvent cement
- Ball valve
- Check valve
- Tee fitting
- Elbow fitting
- Male straight connector
- Straight connector size
- PVC pipe
- Teflon thread seal tape

The water pump should be installed as a dual system (2-way system).
- Prepare the area for placing the water tank and the pump; there should be a roof to protect against sun and rain for a longer service life.
- Place the water pump as close to the water tank as possible for maximum efficiency.
- Connect the pipe from the water meter by first shutting off the meter valve, then connect a tee fitting to split the flow into the water tank and directly into the house.
- Run the pipe into the water tank, installing 1 ball valve to shut off the water for maintenance, and properly install the float valve inside the water tank.
- Screw straight threaded adapters into the tank's water outlet and the pump, wrapping Teflon tape clockwise around the threads about 10–15 turns.
- Connect the pipe to the ball valve properly, then connect the pipe from the water tank to the water pump, with the ball valve installed between the tank and the pump.
- Then connect the water outlet pipe with another ball valve, followed by a tee fitting connecting to the house and the municipal water supply
- Run a pipe from the meter and tank tee to connect to the tee in front of the water pump, with 1 check valve installed in between to prevent backflow when water is drawn from the water pump.
- Connect the electrical wiring to the water pump while keeping the circuit breaker turned off.
- Open the water valves at the meter and at the tank inlet; wait until the water tank is completely full.
- Open the valve from the water tank to the pump while keeping the outlet valve closed.
- Turn on the water pump's circuit breaker, then wait a moment for the pump to run and then stop.
- Open the water outlet valve into the house, then check by turning the water taps inside the house on and off to verify pump operation. That completes the installation.
