3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material 8912 Silver Fabric is an innovation from 3M developed to meet visibility safety needs in low-light or nighttime conditions. This material is not a finished protective garment, but a silver reflective fabric trim that can be applied to a wide variety of clothing, such as workwear, uniforms, sportswear, or outer jackets.

The core of the 8912's retroreflective performance is the exposed high-performance glass lenses technology bonded to a special polymer layer, coated with heat-activated adhesive (for heat-transfer versions) or attached to a 65% polyester and 35% cotton backing fabric. When light from a source, such as vehicle headlights, strikes the material, it retroreflects light directly back to the original source, creating a prominent bright white image in the view of drivers or onlookers.

This 8912 reflective fabric is designed to be wash durable, capable of withstanding machine washing at 60°C for up to 60 wash cycles (per ISO 6330 standard) while maintaining high retroreflective performance. It is also non-orientation sensitive, meaning it retains excellent reflectivity regardless of the viewing angle. It offers excellent drapeability and a smooth hand, making it easy to sew onto garments without causing irritation when worn, and meets high-visibility international standards such as ISO 20471 Class 2, ANSI/ISEA 107 Level 2, and CSA Z96 Level 2, confirming product performance and safety.
