SUMO ER5356 is an aluminum TIG (GTAW) welding rod containing approximately 5% magnesium (Al-Mg5). It is the most popular aluminum filler rod for structural work because it provides higher weld strength than ER4043 and excellent resistance to saltwater corrosion. The 3.2 mm size is designed for welding very thick workpieces for rapid deposition.
