12-volt drills are considered compact drills that are convenient to carry around. Naturally, their power might not match the 18-volt models, but in exchange, their weight is cut by more than half. This makes 12-volt drills extremely popular for fastening tasks and small drilling jobs, such as doors and windows, hinges, repairs, and parts assembly. They are consideredtoolsan absolute essential. Some people may prefer using this type of drill instead of a screwdriver in competitions because the torque can be adjusted fairly finely. However, one must not forget that impact drivers specifically built for commercial work also exist.
For the drills tested today, each brand's batteries can be swapped across different models, but only within the same brand. Actually, after using a 12-volt drill for a certain period, the voltage of each tool may drop, which is normal forCordless drillany tool. In the market right now, thesetoolsmodels are sold both as sets with batteries and as tool only (no battery) without batteries and chargers. This is because some people already own batteries and chargers and do not need extra ones, which brings the price down. However, most 12-volt drills come in full kits or include batteries and a charger, as a 12-volt drill is considered the best starting point for power tool usage.
Today, we at Itoolmart and Lab Khee Mo are going to test 12V cordless drills—a power tool that everyone definitely needs!!! Today, we brought drills from BOSCH / MAKITA / DEWALT / MILWAUKEE, which can be considered the leading drill brands in our country right now. The no-load speed is 0–1,300 rpm and 0–400 rpm in 2nd and 1st gear respectively. The clutch has 20 torque settings for screwdriving. According to the specs, its torque is rated at 24 Nm. It has 2 speed settings: 0 to 450 rpm and 0 to 1,700 rpm. Cordless Hammer Drill MILWAUKEE M12BPD-0 (tool only (no battery)) Price andDrill Details
The MILWAUKEE M12BPD drill stands out right from the start with its metal chuck. In the Thai market, this drill is sold as tool only (no battery), meaning it comes without batteries and a charger; it only includes a cardboard box and a manual. Batteries and chargers must be purchased separately. Its price is somewhat higher than other brands, retailing at around 3,280 THB. The maximum torque claimed for this unit is 38/30 Nm. It has 2 speed settings: 0 to 400 rpm and 0 to 1,500 rpm. The chuck collar offers 18 settings for screwdriving. There are 3 drilling modes: standard drilling, hammer drilling, and screwdriving. Maximum drilling capacity is 22 mm for wood, 10 mm for steel, and 10 mm for concrete. As for weight, it is quite heavier than other brands because of the all-metal chuck. When weighed with a 2 Ah battery, it comes in at 1.4 kg. Fans of Milwaukee will definitely appreciate the metal chuck. Oh, this drill also features an LED light for illumination while working. This model still uses a brushed motor. What I really like about it is the belt clip, which is mounted near the drill head. For those who aren't familiar with the MILWAUKEE brand yet, you can read the history of MILWAUKEE here.
Cordless Hammer Drill BOSCH GSB 12V-30 Price andDrill Details
For this model, it is the Bosch gsb12v-30. When I first saw this Bosch drill, it really caught my eye because of its quite compact size. The length from the drill tip to the back of the drill is only 168 mm, or maybe it's due to its rounded curved design. This unit comes with a shockproof hard plastic case and two 12V 2Ah batteries . But what's even cooler is that it comes with a charger that is said to charge extremely fast—arguably the fastest in the world. The included charger is the GAL 12V-40 model. From checking the specs, it charges a 12V 2Ah battery to 100% in just 35 minutes. It's truly a fully-loaded package. Likewise, this unit features an LED work light and a battery level indicator on the tool body itself. It comes with a brushless motor. The maximum torque is 35 Nm and 21 Nm, with no-load speeds of 0-1,600 RPM and 0-420 RPM in gear 2 and gear 1 respectively. The chuck features 20 torque settings and comes with 3 modes: drilling, impact drilling, and screwdriving. The maximum drilling capacity is 20 mm in wood, 10 mm in steel, and 8 mm in masonry. The weight including the battery is the lightest in our test group, at exactly 1 kg.

Here is the summary table of the 12 V cordless drill test results.
"The Verdict"
For this test, I conducted various trials multiple times, including screw driving, wood drilling, steel drilling, and draining the battery completely to test runtime, as well as weight and ergonomic grip comfort. The timings and summary results are shown in the table below. Personally, in this test, I was particularly impressed with the Makita HP 333dwye model because of its affordable price and yet excellent drilling performance across various materials, comparable to the Milwaukee, which is nearly twice as expensive. Actually, Milwaukee has a higher top-tier drill model than this, which we did not include in this test. The small handle fits my Asian hand perfectly, providing quite agile handling. As for other grips, both the DeWalt and the makita HP 332DWYE are just as comfortable to hold. Regarding charging speed, the Bosch model gsb 12v-30 charged even faster than claimed, but the makita HP333DWYE also did quite well.

How was that?.... for our quest to find the ultimate 12V cordless drill in Thailand. You can choose the drill that fits your needs and favorite brand that you already have in mind.
And I hope you enjoyed it and that it helps you when choosing products or cordless drills from our itoolmart.com haha. That's all for this time. See you next time, goodbye!...
