TESA 4965-5 (tesa® Smart Bond Crystal) is a premium crystal-clear double-sided filmic tape, available in a pre-cut 5-meter roll for convenient storage and portability. Its construction features a high-quality polyester film (PET film) backing, coated on both sides with a proprietary high-tack acrylic adhesive formula (tackified acrylic adhesive). It provides strong, instant bonding upon application, complemented by water-clear transparency that keeps work surfaces smooth, seamless, and visually unobstructed—fulfilling the demands of applications requiring both engineering tensile strength and aesthetic clarity.

Features

Crystal Clear Transparency: The tape backing and core film are crystal clear. Once the plastic liner is removed and applied to the workpiece, the tape blends seamlessly into the surface without visible residue or tape marks—ideal for glass and clear plastics.

Extraordinary High-Bond Tack: Industrial-grade acrylic adhesive delivers high adhesion right from the initial contact pressure, creating a permanent, tight bond between the object and surface with an excellent tensile strength resistance of up to 20 N/cm.

Multi-Material Binding Capabilities: Delivers high bonding performance across a wide variety of surfaces, including glass, ceramic tiles, smooth metals, coated wood, and nearly all types of engineering plastics (e.g., ABS, PC, PVC).

Robust Weather & Chemical Resistance: Resists long-term accumulated operating temperatures up to 100°C; resistant to moisture, UV radiation, dilute chemicals, and plasticizers. The adhesive does not become brittle, dry out, or bleed/peel over time.

Ultra-Thin Profile Construction: With a thickness of only 205 microns (0.21 mm), it enables workpieces to join flush as a single seamless unit without unsightly thick gaps.
