The SUMO E308L-16 3.2 mm stainless steel welding electrode is a lime-titania coated electrode containing high alloy content, designed for welding extra-low carbon 18%Cr-8%Ni austenitic stainless steels. It delivers a smooth, stable arc, easy slag removal, and produces a bright, clean, and beautiful weld bead with minimal finishing required.

Feature

Extra Low Carbon (L): Extra-low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation at grain boundaries, providing excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion.

Smooth and Stable Arc: Provides a consistent arc with low spatter, making it easy to control the weld pool even for novice welders.

Self-Peeling Slag: Slag peels off by itself upon cooling or chips off very easily, reducing work steps and saving time.

Corrosion & Heat Resistance: The weld bead offers good resistance to rusting and mild acid corrosion, as well as high heat resistance.

Versatile Current: Works well with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC+) welding machines.

Application

Suitable for welding 301, 302, 304, and especially 304L stainless steel grades.

Used in fabricating food-grade storage tanks, stainless steel kitchenware, and hospital equipment.

General stainless steel structural work, railings, and interior/exterior decorative work where aesthetic appearance is required.

Used in chemical and petrochemical industries exposed to moderate corrosive conditions.

Recommendation: If the electrodes are exposed to moisture, redry at 200–250°C for 30–60 minutes before use for optimal performance.
