SUMO stainless steel welding wire ER316Lsi is an austenitic filler rod for the TIG (GTAW) welding process, containing molybdenum and extra-low carbon, along with increased silicon content. This provides the weld seam with better corrosion resistance against acids and chemicals than grade 308L, while ensuring exceptionally smooth and attractive weld puddle fluidity.

Feature

Corrosion Resistance (Mo): The addition of molybdenum provides excellent resistance to pitting corrosion and chloride corrosion.

High Silicon Content (si): Improves weld puddle fluidity, resulting in a flat, smooth, and deeply penetrating weld seam, reducing incomplete fusion.

Extra Low Carbon (L): The extra-low carbon content reduces the risk of carbide precipitation, maintaining the weld's corrosion resistance even under high-temperature conditions.

Smooth & Bright Finish: Delivers a clean, bright, and shiny weld bead with minimal soot, saving time on surface finishing.

High Precision Welding: The 1.6 mm size allows precise control of the weld pool and filler metal feed rate, making it ideal for thin to medium-thickness workpieces.

Application

Suitable for welding 316 and 316L stainless steel exposed to chemicals, salts, or acids.

Used in petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and paper industries, as well as chemical piping applications.

Widely used in the marine industry, such as shipboard equipment or coastal structures.

How to use: Must be used with a TIG welding machine (DC- current) and 100% pure argon shielding gas.
