SUMO ER308Lsi stainless steel welding wire is a solid filler rod for the TIG (GTAW) welding process, made from high-purity austenitic grade alloy. It features extra low carbon content to prevent corrosion, and added silicon content to provide excellent molten metal fluidity during welding. The 2.4 mm size is the most popular size for general stainless steel fabrication requiring dense and strong weld metal.

Feature

High Silicon Content (Si): High silicon content reduces the surface tension of the weld pool, providing high fluidity for a flatter, smoother weld bead with excellent penetration.

Low Carbon (L): Helps reduce the risk of chromium carbide precipitation along grain boundaries (Intergranular Corrosion), giving the weld bead excellent corrosion resistance even under normal operating conditions.

Arc Stability: Delivers a very smooth and stable arc with low spatter. The resulting weld bead is bright, clean, and shiny, reducing post-weld finishing work.

Precision Thickness: The 2.4 mm wire size provides optimal balance for welding medium-to-thick workpieces, allowing fast and consistent deposition of weld metal.

Rust Resistance: The wire undergoes a fine surface polishing and cleaning process to prevent rust stains and impurities in the weld seam.

Application

Suitable for welding grades 301, 302, 304, 304L, and 308 stainless steel.

Used in heavy structural industries, pressure vessel fabrication, and machinery assembly in the food industry.

Popular for architectural works, stair railings, stainless steel gates, and medium-sized industrial piping.

How to use: Must be used with a TIG welding machine (DC- current) and pure argon gas (100% Argon) as the shielding gas while welding.
