KNIPEX 98 55 Cable Knife with VDE Handle 180 mm
KNIPEX 98 55 Cable Knife (180 mm length) features a sickle-shaped hooked blade with a guide shoe, specially designed for professional electricians working with large cables or high-voltage wiring. The highly durable insulated handle is tested according to international safety standards IEC 60900 / DIN EN 60900, protecting against electrical current up to 1,000V AC (1,500V DC).
The key highlight of model 98 55 is the "solid, fixed guide shoe" attached to the tip of the curved blade, which lifts the outer cable sheath while slitting to completely prevent the blade from cutting or damaging the inner conductor insulation. The handle offers a secure grip made of multi-component materials with a slip guard, ensuring German-level quality and precision.

Features
- 1000V VDE Insulated: Heavily insulated handle tested in accordance with IEC 60900 / DIN EN 60900 standards, protecting against electrical shock hazards up to 1,000V AC
- Hook Blade with Guide Shoe: Sickle-shaped hook blade features a guide shoe at the tip to lift cable sheathing during slitting, preventing blade damage to the inner conductor insulation
- Surgical Grade Steel: Blade made of special tool steel, oil-hardened, durable, long-lasting sharpness, resistant to wear, chipping, and breaking
- Ergonomic Handle with Slip Guard: Extra-thick multi-component plastic handle designed ergonomically with a slip guard to prevent hands from slipping onto the blade, ensuring safe cutting force application
- Transparent Protective Cap: Includes a transparent plastic blade cap with a secure latch for safety during transport and storage

- Slitting and dismantling large round sheathed cables
- High-voltage electrical installation and maintenance, MDB switchboards, and factory control cabinets
