RIDGID 42478 strap wrench holds 3 - 8 inch pipes
The RIDGID 42478 is a Strap Vise specifically engineered to solve the problem of gripping large plastic pipes—particularly PVC, CPVC, or other plastic pipes with smooth surfaces that risk scratches or crushing deformation when using conventional metal vises. With a high-quality strap mechanism that distributes clamping pressure evenly, it holds pipes firmly and securely for precise cutting or assembly.

Features
- Specialized for Plastic Pipes: Specially designed for use with plastic pipes without marring or deforming the pipe surface.
- Heavy-Duty Nylon Strap: Strap made of high-density braided nylon delivers extreme tensile strength and excellent surface grip.
- Wide Capacity Range: Adjustable capacity to grip pipes widely from 3 inches up to 8 inches (80 - 200 mm).
- Lightweight & Portable: Lightweight handle is easy to carry, ideal for on-site construction work or in confined spaces.

Applications
- Large drainage and waste piping installations in buildings.
- Main plumbing installation tasks using smooth-surfaced plastic pipes
- Used for gripping pipes for cutting with a saw or pipe cutter
- Ideal for professional plumbers who demand precision and workpiece protection
