SUMO E7016 3.2 mm welding electrode is a low-hydrogen potassium flux-coated electrode designed for welding 490 MPa high tensile strength steel. The electrode delivers a smooth and steady arc. The weld metal has high purity and excellent toughness, ideal for welding applications subjected to pressure or repeated impact.

Feature

Low Hydrogen Content: Extremely low hydrogen content in the weld metal helps reduce the risk of cold cracking in the weld seam.

Superior Mechanical Properties: Delivers high strength and elongation; the weld provides excellent corrosion resistance and tensile strength.

Excellent Operability: Suitable for all welding positions (except vertical down), with easy slag removal and low spatter.

Deep Penetration: Provides optimal penetration for medium-to-large structural work, ensuring complete weld integrity.

X-ray Quality: High cleanliness weld deposit capable of passing radiographic (X-ray) inspection according to engineering standards.

Application

Suitable for general and heavy structural steel welding such as building beams, steel bridges, and shipbuilding.

Used in welding pressure vessels and industrial piping subjected to high pressure.

Used for root pass welding prior to capping with other electrode types in thick structural work.

Recommendation: For maximum quality, electrodes should be baked at 300-350°C for 30-60 minutes before use to remove moisture.
