SUMO welding rod model ER4043, size 2.4 mm., is an aluminum filler rod for the TIG (GTAW) welding process, containing approximately 5% silicon, also known as Al-Si5. This grade of rod is the most popular due to its low melting point and high molten metal fluidity, allowing aluminum workpieces to be welded easily and quickly.
Feature
Superior Fluidity: With the silicon mixture, the rod melts and flows excellently, making it easy to control the weld pool even in difficult welding positions.
High Resistance to Cracking: Helps reduce the chance of cracking after the weld bead cools (hot cracking) better than pure aluminum rods.
Low Melting Range: A lower melting temperature helps reduce heat accumulation in the workpiece, minimizing distortion.
Smooth & Bright Weld: Delivers smooth, uniform, and cleanly bright weld seams.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: The weld seam offers good resistance to environmental corrosion.
Application
Suitable for welding aluminum grades 6061, 6063, and various casting grades of aluminum.
Used in automotive parts industries, such as repairing transmissions, cylinder heads, alloy wheels, and engine structures.
General aluminum structural assembly work, such as ladders, shelving units, and furniture.
How to use: Must be used with a TIG welding machine (AC current) and pure argon gas (100% Argon) to shield the weld seam from oxygen.
