SUMO ER5356 aluminum welding wire is a coiled welding wire (MIG wire) containing approximately 5% magnesium (Al-Mg Alloy). Designed for welding 5XXX series aluminum grades, which require high strength and seawater corrosion resistance. The wire has greater stiffness than ER4043 grade, facilitating smooth and continuous wire feeding through the welding torch liner and reducing bird-nesting issues.
Feature

High Strength: Provides excellent tensile strength, ideal for aluminum structural work subject to high tension.

Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Superior resistance to corrosion, especially in saltwater environments or coastal atmospheres.

Better Feedability: With a stiffer wire composition than other models, it delivers more stable and consistent feeding, reducing wire jamming in the torch liner.

Anodizing Match: After welding, the weld bead provides good anodizing response, with a color that closely matches the base material.

Clean Surface: Clean wire surface treated with a special polishing process ensures smooth arcing and reduces black soot formation.

Application

Suitable for welding aluminum grades 5050, 5052, 5083, 5356, 5454, and 5456.

Widely used in shipbuilding (Marine Applications), truck crossmembers, automotive structures, and pressure vessels.

Instructions for use: Must be used exclusively with pure argon (100% Argon) shielding gas

Recommendation: Use U-groove drive rollers and a Teflon liner for optimal performance.
