The Makita D-17429 is a premium metal drill bit made from High Speed Steel alloyed with 5% Cobalt (HSS-Co), also known as M35 grade steel. This drill bit is engineered to outperform standard HSS drill bits, especially when drilling materials prone to heat buildup and with high hardness. The added cobalt retains cutting edge strength even when the drill bit becomes extremely hot under heavy use.

135° Split Point: Split point tip allows for self-centering without needing a center punch, reducing feed pressure and preventing bit walking
