The No. 4-6 rivet shares the same diameter (No. 4) as other rivets in its series but features the longest length (No. 6), providing the widest grip range to accommodate fastening multi-layer workpieces with greater combined thickness. The rivet consists of an aluminum rivet body and a steel mandrel.When installed with a rivet tool, the pulling force causes the blind end of the rivet body to expand, firmly clamping the workpieces together until the mandrel snaps off. Choosing size 4-6 indicates a relatively high total thickness of the materials being fastened while still benefiting from the lightweight and rust-resistant properties of aluminum.
