The K-400 is a "Drum Machine", meaning the cable is contained inside a drum, reducing mess and keeping the job site cleaner. It comes equipped with an integrated cart for easy transport to and from job sites and up stairs. Large, heavy-duty wheels effortlessly navigate obstacles. The Cable Control System is a crucial feature that stops the drum from spinning when the cutter gets lodged in a blockage, limiting the potential for cable flip-over inside the drum and alerting the operator when a clog is encountered.

- Compatible with 1/2 in. (12 mm) cables, suitable for 3 in. to 4 in. (50 mm to 110 mm) pipes
- Integrated cart for easy transport to and from job sites; large heavy-duty wheels effortlessly clear obstacles and navigate stairs
- Foldable handle allows handle height adjustment for transport.
- Cable control system stops the drum from spinning when the blade gets lodged in a blockage, helping to limit the potential for cable flip-over in the drum and signaling the operator when a blockage is encountered.
- "Solid Core" cable uses tough, durable, and kink-resistant Integral Wound (IW) Solid Core cable.
- AUTOFEED® Control system (optional) automatic cable feeding system that powers cable in and out of the drain. Reversing the AUTOFEED feeds the cable back into the drum (sold separately).

Considerations
- Not suitable for tree roots: The K-400 machine is not designed to clear tree root blockages. If your work involves roots, consider a more powerful machine.
- Enclosed drum cable storage: While it minimizes mess, operating with cable stored in the drum can cause debris to accumulate inside over time, requiring cleaning.
- AUTOFEED not included as standard: The AUTOFEED® Control system is not standard equipment on model 27038 (K-400) and must be purchased as an optional accessory.
- Lower rotational speed than Sectional models: Operating at 165 RPM, which is lower than sectional machines (such as the K-50 or K-60 at 400-600 RPM), it may take longer to clear blockages.
